Earth Safe Design was entrusted with the responsibility to design and construct a timeless and elegant Hempcrete house, which would be the new home for the owner’s family in a serene and rural location.
Our team worked tirelessly to ensure that the design theme of this beautiful home was executed flawlessly. With every inch of the 200 square meters of space, we crafted a functional and elegant layout. The entryway was carefully planned to be inviting. Whilst the living room was crafted to be cosy and welcoming. Our keen attention to detail is evident in the well-appointed kitchen and the three bathrooms designed to cater to the homeowner’s every need. Seven spacious bedrooms provide ample accommodation for family and guests. Whilst the elegant interior hall adds a touch of sophistication to the home. A charming ground-floor terrace and a tranquil relaxation lounge provide the perfect spaces to unwind and relax.
Initially, we had envisioned the exterior walls to be timber framed with a straw bale infill. However, the owner made an informed decision to opt for a more enduring construction method, ensuring the durability and longevity of this stunning home.
As a result, the walls were built with hempcrete, further enhancing the building’s already elevated class in terms of energy efficiency and reduced carbon footprint. This choice has elevated the building to a higher class in terms of energy efficiency and reduced carbon footprint. Currently, the house awaits its final touch – a protective and aesthetically pleasing coat of lime render.
